Resilience
We can’t wait for you to explore our first issue of Reimagined Perspectives, with a theme of Resilience. 2020 challenged us to reevaluate how we think about resilience, so at Jacobs, we’ve been exploring this dynamism, believing that resilience is defined by our ability to adapt and grow — no matter what adversity we are experiencing.
I’ve seen firsthand how our technologists, engineers, scientists and planners have delivered resilient approaches for decades. We have helped clients deal with the unexpected across all sorts of scales and systems. However, the COVID-19 pandemic has definitely put our resilience response into overdrive.
How Have We Responded?
We’ve asked ourselves the challenging questions that need to be answered to help our clients thrive in uncertain times.
- How can we be more mentally and emotionally resilient to the shocks and stresses of this pandemic situation?
- How do we anticipate massive global shifts like the pandemic and adapt to the effects?
- Is now the time to address underlying societal, economic and environmental issues that have come to light as a result?
- What about interconnected global challenges, like the climate crisis, poverty, inequality and globalization?
- With threats from all sides, how can we make our systems more cyber resilient?
Hearing From Our Thought Leaders
We’ll be sharing our insights and experiences, and highlighting how — through our client partnerships — we’ve been able to challenge the accepted and deliver resilience, putting us in a stronger position to minimize impacts of future crises.
